Death of Jean Pormanove: American streamer Adin Ross announces he wants to "take charge" of the funeral with rapper Drake

American streamer Adin Ross, who has a multi-million-strong following, has announced that he and rapper Drake will be contributing financially to the funeral of Jean Pormanove, who died earlier this week. However, there are rumors that both have financial ties to Kick, where "JP" was streaming at the time of his death.
By Louis ValleauFor him, it's "the least they can do." Famous American streamer Adin Ross and rapper Drake will "cover the funeral expenses" related to the death of Frenchman Jean Pormanove on Sunday night, Adin Ross said in a post on the social network X on Tuesday. Drake has not yet responded to this announcement.
The latter has seven million subscribers on Twitch and 1.8 million on Kick, a rival streaming platform Jean Pormanove was a regular on. It was on this site that he was livestreaming at the time of his death and where he was regularly subjected to humiliation and harassment. Adin Ross is one of the biggest streamers on this platform. Drake, for his part, has more than 300,000 subscribers on Kick.
Some rumors circulating in the American press, but not officially confirmed, suggest that the famous rapper could be affiliated in some way with Kick. He is indeed linked to the online casino service Stake, which would have financially supported Kick, as reported by the reputable agency Bloomberg . Drake and Adin Ross have already done live broadcasts together several times, for example last week on a casino site, as indicated on Drake's Kick page.
“This is horrible and disgusting. Anyone who participated in this deserves serious consequences,” Adin Ross wrote in his post, which was also picked up by American media outlet TMZ . “I just spoke with Drake. Drake and I will be covering the funeral expenses. This won’t bring Jean back to life, but it’s the least we can do. Our prayers go out to Jean’s family,” he continued.

Raphaël Graven, Jean Pormanove's real name, is a 46-year-old former soldier . He died on the night of Sunday to Monday near Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) live while he and his "Lokal" colleagues had been filming themselves 24 hours a day for more than twelve days on Kick. The Nice prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into the cause of death, but states that "at this stage, nothing suspicious" has been observed and an "autopsy will be carried out."
During live broadcasts on the "JP" channel, his two accomplices "Naruto" and "Safine" regularly attacked him and "Coudoux," a disabled man under guardianship, who had joined the trio. Violence, insults, humiliations, acts of this type multiplied against Jean Pormanove, in order to obtain donations and more viewers.
While the Nice prosecutor's office has not yet linked Raphaël Graven's death to these events, the Minister Delegate for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Affairs, Clara Chappaz, announced on Tuesday that she had "contacted Arcom" and had "filed a report on Pharos." "Jean Pormanove was humiliated and mistreated for months live on the Kick platform," she wrote.
An investigation is also still underway against "Naruto" and "Safine" for suspicion of violence against vulnerable people. Both, who deny the facts, were taken into custody in early 2025 before being released, following an article on the subject by our colleagues at Mediapart . All these images "are simply staged scenes from a script between Naruto and the deceased," Yassin Saoudini, lawyer for Owen Cenazandotti, the real name of "Naruto," defended himself again this Tuesday .
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Jean Pormanove and extend our condolences to his family, friends, and community," Kick said. "We are currently urgently reviewing the circumstances and working with relevant stakeholders to investigate the situation," it added.
